Cookie Policy

Last updated: 12 May 2026 · Version 1.0
In short. We use a small set of cookies and similar technologies. The strictly necessary ones run by default. Analytics and marketing only run if you accept them in the banner. You can change your mind at any time.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies let a site remember things between page loads (for example, that you accepted the cookie banner). "Similar technologies" includes localStorage, sessionStorage, pixel tags and SDK identifiers.

2. How we decide to set cookies

We follow the European Union ePrivacy Directive, the GDPR and the LGPD. Cookies that are not strictly necessary will only run after you have given consent through the banner at the bottom of the screen, or after restoring a previous choice from your browser storage.

On first visit you have two clear choices:

  • Accept all — strictly necessary, analytics and marketing all run.
  • Only necessary — only strictly necessary technologies run. Nothing is sent to Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel.

Your choice is stored in your browser as wntt_consent_v1 = "all" | "necessary".

3. Cookie categories

Strictly necessary Always on

Needed for the site to work — for example, remembering that you closed the cookie banner, keeping you signed in to the booking portal, and helping us detect malicious traffic. Disabling these would break basic features. They never use your data for marketing or measurement.

Performance / analytics Optional · consent required

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) helps us understand which pages are useful and where people drop off. We use GA4 in Consent Mode v2 — until you accept, no analytics cookies are stored and only anonymous, aggregated signals are sent.

Marketing Optional · consent required

The Meta Pixel measures the effectiveness of our Facebook and Instagram campaigns and lets us show ads to people who showed interest in WNTT trips. The pixel script is not loaded at all unless you choose "Accept all". If you choose "Only necessary", Facebook never receives a request from your browser.

Strictly necessary technologies are first-party (set by wntraveltrips.com itself). Analytics and marketing cookies are third-party (set by Google and Meta on their own domains when the relevant script is loaded).

5. How to manage your choice

5.1 Through the banner

Click "Only necessary" or "Accept all" in the banner the first time you visit. To change your mind:

  • Open your browser's developer tools (right-click → Inspect → Application / Storage).
  • Under "Local storage" for wntraveltrips.com, delete the entry wntt_consent_v1.
  • Reload the page. The banner will appear again and you can pick a new option.

A simple in-page "manage cookies" button is on our roadmap.

5.2 Through your browser

All major browsers let you block or delete cookies entirely. Doing so may make parts of the booking portal stop working (you would have to sign in every time). Instructions:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

5.3 Opt out directly with providers

  • Google Analytics opt-out
  • Manage Meta ad preferences

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. The signal is not standardised and we currently do not change our behaviour based on it — we rely on the explicit choice you make in the cookie banner.

7. Updates

When we add or remove a technology that uses cookies, this list will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top of the page changed. We may notify active customers by email when a material change happens.

8. Contact

Questions about cookies, or want a category disabled entirely on your account? Email hello@wntraveltrips.com. The general Privacy Policy explains your wider rights.
