Terms & Booking Conditions
1. About these terms
These Terms & Booking Conditions govern the relationship between you (the "Traveller") and Why Not Travel Trips ("WNTT", "we", "us"), the organiser of small-group paramotor expeditions. They apply from the moment you submit an enquiry through this website, by WhatsApp, or by email, and remain in force throughout the planning and operation of any trip you book.
If anything in these terms is unclear, contact us before paying a deposit. By paying any deposit or balance, you confirm you have read, understood and accepted these terms.
2. Who we are
WNTT is operated as a sole trader by Ricardo Maciel, based in the United Kingdom, with operations in Portugal, Brazil and Egypt. Each trip may be delivered with one or more local partners and certified pilot operators (for example, SkyOne for the Egypt programme). Where a partner is involved, we will identify them clearly in the trip page and joining instructions.

3. Definitions
- Trip — any expedition listed on wntraveltrips.com or arranged privately by WNTT.
- Pilot — a Traveller who is a qualified powered paraglider / paramotor pilot and brings or rents flying equipment.
- Guest — a Traveller who joins the trip as a passenger or non-flying participant.
- Deposit — the first payment to confirm a booking.
- Balance — the remaining amount due before the trip start date.
- Trip page — the individual expedition page on wntraveltrips.com (Egypt, Amazon, Rio, or any future route).
4. Booking process
- You send an enquiry via WhatsApp, the contact form or email.
- We confirm availability and provide a personal summary of price, dates and what is included.
- You receive a Stripe payment link for the deposit. The booking is only confirmed when the deposit clears.
- You receive a private trip portal account with documents, payment status and updates.
- The remaining balance is due by the date stated on the trip page (typically 60 days before departure).
5. Pricing and what is included
Prices are shown in Euro (€) or Pounds Sterling (£) depending on the trip and where indicated on the relevant trip page. The exact inclusions and exclusions for each trip are listed on its trip page under "Included" and "Important to know" — these form part of these Terms by reference.
Unless explicitly listed as included, the following are not included: international flights to and from the destination, travel insurance, visa fees, optional excursions, alcoholic beverages outside meals, items of a personal nature, and gratuities. Stripe currency conversion or local bank fees, where applicable, are borne by the Traveller.
6. Payment and Stripe
All card payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. under their own terms. WNTT does not see or store full card numbers — only references generated by Stripe.
Where instalments are agreed in writing, these are recorded in the trip portal. Late payment may forfeit your place at WNTT's discretion.
If your card is declined or your payment reversed without our agreement, your booking may be cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
7. Cancellation by you
We understand plans change. The schedule below applies by default. Specific trips may have stricter terms if our suppliers require so — these will be made clear in writing before you pay.
| When you cancel | Refund |
|---|---|
| More than 90 days before the start date | Full refund of the balance. Deposit is non-refundable but may be moved to another WNTT trip within 12 months. |
| 60–90 days before the start date | Refund of 60% of the total trip price. |
| 30–59 days before the start date | Refund of 30% of the total trip price. |
| Less than 30 days before the start date | No refund. Travel insurance is your friend. |
Refunds are processed within 14 days of confirming the cancellation in writing. Bank or currency conversion fees are deducted from the refund. We strongly recommend taking travel insurance that covers cancellation for any reason.
8. Cancellation by us
WNTT may cancel or significantly change a trip for reasons including but not limited to:
- Low enrolment (minimum group size not reached).
- Unsafe weather conditions or operational risk.
- Loss of permits, airspace closure, or government order at the destination.
- Force majeure (see Section 15).
If we cancel the trip in full, you are entitled to one of:
- Full refund of every amount you paid to WNTT, within 14 days of cancellation; or
- Transfer to an alternative WNTT trip of equal value within the next 18 months; or
- Credit of the equivalent amount towards a future WNTT trip.
If we significantly change the itinerary (for example, replacing a flying day with a ground activity due to weather), no automatic refund is owed, but we will keep you informed and adjust scheduled activities where reasonable.
9. Insurance — mandatory
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for every Traveller. Your policy must cover at minimum:
- Medical emergencies and repatriation.
- Cancellation and curtailment.
- Personal accident and personal liability.
- For pilots — coverage for paramotor flying (this is a specific add-on; standard policies often exclude it). We recommend the pilot insurance schemes available through APPI, BHPA, or your national paragliding federation.
WNTT will request evidence of your insurance policy before the trip starts. Travellers without valid insurance may be refused boarding or excluded from flying activities, at WNTT's discretion, with no refund.
10. Health and fitness
Adventure travel and paramotor flying have physical and medical demands. You confirm that you are in adequate health to participate. You must disclose, in writing through the trip portal, any condition that could affect your safety, the safety of others, or the planning of medical support — including heart conditions, respiratory conditions, recent surgery, pregnancy, allergies, mental health crises and medications.
WNTT reserves the right to refuse participation in any activity if, in our reasonable judgement, you are not fit to take part safely. No refund is owed in that case beyond what is set out in Section 7.
11. Pilot vs guest travellers
Pilot Travellers must hold a valid paramotor pilot licence recognised in the country where the trip takes place (for example, APPI, USPPA, BHPA, or local CAA equivalent). Equipment must be airworthy and meet certification requirements of the destination country.
Guest Travellers do not need a licence. Tandem flights, where included, are conducted by certified tandem pilots and are subject to weather and operational conditions.
Flying is always a decision of the pilot in command and the local flight director. Cancellation of a specific flight does not entitle you to a refund of the trip price.
12. Documents and visas
You are responsible for ensuring you have a valid passport, the required entry visa, vaccinations and any additional paperwork required by the destination country. WNTT can advise but cannot obtain documents on your behalf. We strongly suggest a passport valid for at least six months beyond the trip return date.
13. Conduct on the trip
Travellers must follow safety briefings, the directions of WNTT, partner staff and local authorities. WNTT reserves the right to remove from the trip, with no refund, any Traveller whose behaviour endangers themselves, other travellers, staff, or the operation. Aggressive behaviour, harassment, illegal activity, or intoxication during flying activities all qualify as grounds for removal.
14. Limitation of liability
WNTT plans and coordinates trips with care, but adventure travel and powered flight have inherent risks that cannot be eliminated. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- WNTT's total liability arising from any trip is limited to the amount paid by the Traveller for that trip.
- WNTT is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of enjoyment, missed flights, or lost income.
- WNTT is not liable for the acts, omissions or default of independent suppliers (airlines, hotels, local guides, tandem pilots, ground transfers), except where we have been negligent in their selection.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
For travellers covered by the UK Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 (or equivalent EU package travel rules where applicable), your statutory rights remain unaffected.
15. Force majeure
WNTT is not liable for any failure to deliver the trip caused by events outside our reasonable control — including war, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemic restrictions, natural disaster, severe weather, airline strikes, airspace closure, government action, currency or banking failure. Where force majeure makes it impossible to deliver the trip, Sections 7 and 8 apply.
16. Privacy
Your personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. By booking with WNTT you agree to that processing.
17. Photos and intellectual property
WNTT and its partners may take photos and video during the trip for our records and (with your permission) for future marketing. You will be asked, in the trip portal, whether you grant permission for your image to be used publicly. You can withdraw consent at any time and the relevant media will be removed from active marketing channels (we cannot recall material already shared by third parties).
All trip content, text, photos and the wntraveltrips.com design are the intellectual property of WNTT or its licensors and are protected by copyright. You may not republish them commercially without written permission.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will first be addressed by good-faith negotiation between the parties. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, you may submit the dispute to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr) or to the courts of England and Wales. Consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence where mandatory consumer law allows it.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version applicable to your booking is the one in force on the date you pay the deposit. Material changes affecting active bookings will be communicated through the trip portal and by email.
